Faculty member at RISE University, an accredited online university, co-authors new book on responding to societal issues

Coventry, UK, January 9, 2012 – Dr. Peter Conis, a faculty member in the School of Social Sciences at RISE University(www.riseuniversity.com), an accredited online university that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programmes for working adults, has co-authored a new book that is a pragmatic guide for responding to day to day societal issues. The book provides an overview of both strategic practices, as well as pragmatic ideas to help public safety professionals respond to acts of injustice. Although, it was written specifically for those working in the fire service, EMS, law enforcement, and emergency management fields, it has been read and appreciated by general public.

Conis, along with his co-author, Paul Christian, a senior research scientist, wrote the book with both informative case studies in order to highlight essential code of conduct that can be carried out to minimise the overall effect. The specific topics the book addresses include: incident management, infrastructure protection, response procedures, protective equipment and crime scene operations.

"We wrote this book as a practical guide for people to take the right initiative," Conis said, "The topics we cover are valuable for practitioners and decision-makers in the public safety field."
