Salon teams with Knights of Columbus and St. Andrew’s

Fairfax, VA – For the second straight year, Salon Antoine and Spa of Fairfax, VA sponsored a Thanksgiving food drive in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Julius J. Cilinski Council #10947.

Ten large boxes loaded with some 500 items of beans, corn, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pies, juice, fruit, etc. were gathered and then driven from Salon Antoine to the Knights of Columbus on Sunday, Nov. 20th. The K of C will box the gathered foodstuffs into complete dinners and hand-deliver them on Monday, Nov. 21st to more than 200-300 families for the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays.
Antoine ‘Tony’ Chahine, owner of Salon Antoine, said, “On behalf of myself and the entire staff at Salon Antoine, and for all those wonderful friends and customers of ours who made a point of bringing food products to the salon, I say ‘Thank you!’ Thanksgiving should be a time for family, a time for remembering our many blessings. I feel privileged that we were able to make a contribution to the Knights of Columbus and the caring work they perform all year long in our community.”

James Auwaerter, Grand Knight of the Father Julius Cilinski Council #10947, said, “The Knights of Columbus annual Thanksgiving food drive was a successful activity once again. On behalf of the individuals and families in our immediate area, people who are in real need, it’s wonderful to know there are businesses like Salon Antoine willing to pitch in and charitably exhibit genuine love of neighbor.”
