Family comedy night coming to St Albans

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 5, 2012 -- The event is going to be a regular one, with Howlin Comedy Club taking residency at the city centre theatre every first Saturday night of the month.

This type of night marks a new style of entertainment for St Albans. Variety shows on TV such as Britians Got Talent have proved a big hit with family audiences and it will be interesting to see if local residents will swap their sofas for seats in the stalls come Saturday night.

The line up for the opening night includes; Jim Tavare, an internationally acclaimed actor and comedian with a highly distinguished career staring in Harry Potter through to private performances for the Royal family; Miles Crawford an international entertainer whose write-up promises that he won't leave a dry eye in the audience; Tony Cowards a quick fire joke teller, who has been described by the List magazine as a 'Pun-osaurus'; and Nick Wilty, a globetrotting, award-winning comedian whose act Timeout has hailed as 'unmissable!'

Kev Orkian, the Founder of Howlin said: "Howlin Comedy Club is not just about Comedy, it's about full on entertainment, a variety show, fun for all ages with line ups not to be missed!"

Kev himself is an all round entertainer and concert pianist best known for his Armenian character the Foreigner. He has worked alongside the likes of Jethro, Bobby Davro and singer Katherine Jenkins. And although he's currently starring alongside Dame Edna Everage in panto, he will be taking the night off to join in the fun at The Maltings Theatre this Saturday.
