The festivities, produced by Team Frankie Laine include a sumptuous luncheon, Video montage with highlights of Mr. Laine's Career on 2 giant screens and a Las Vegas style show.
Bobby Arvon, a long time friend of Laine and renowned recording artist known for singing the title song of the hit TV series "Happy Days, brings his high powered Las Vegas style show singing Mr. Laine's biggest hits. Arvon was also the original voice for œOh What a Beautiful Morning, the theme for the CBS' morning news and wrote two songs that Mr. Laine later recorded. www.bobbyarvon.com
Mr. Laine, a long time San Diego resident, who recorded on labels such as, Mercury, Philips, Columbia and Capitol sold over 200 million records. Often billed as œAmerica's Number One Song Stylist, his nickname was Mr. Rhythm. His hits included "That's My Desire", "That Lucky Old Sun", "Mule Train", "Cry of the Wild Goose", "Jezebel", "High Noon", "I Believe", "Hey Joe!", "The Kid's Last Fight", "Cool Water", "Moonlight Gambler", "Love Is a Golden Ring", "Rawhide", "Lord, You Gave Me a Mountain and "Blazing Saddles." Mr. Laine received 21 gold records in his 70-year career span. Laine was also a frequent contributor to Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest and The Salvation Army.
