The 2011 F-Series Super Duty models boast all-new powertrains, led by the Ford-designed, Ford-engineered and Ford-built 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V-8 turbocharged diesel engine, which delivers best-in-class torque of 735 ft.-lb. (at 1,600 rpm) and best-in-class 390 horsepower (at 2,800 rpm) – 85 ft.-lb. and 40 horsepower more than the outgoing product. The new diesel does this with best-in-class fuel economy and biodiesel compatibility up to B20.

The all new 6.7 liter Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel and 6.2 liter V8 gas engines are not only bigger, smarter, and more powerful but they also have best in class fuel efficiency. The diesel engine making a 20% improvement and the gas engine making a 15% improvement from last years models. The impressive part is that the engines are light in weight but provide big results in towing, hauling, torque, horsepower, and all around toughness.

The 6.7 L Power Stroke also has a state of the arts emissions systems that combine industry proven technology with Ford designed innovations to meet the latest federal emissions standards. The Ford engine’s technology reduces Nitrogen Oxide levels by more than 80% while still maintaining its strength.

The always dependable workhorse, the 6.8 liter V10 gas engine, returns with class exclusive horsepower and torque. Available in the F450 and F550 chassis, this tough engine has 362 horsepower with 457 lb-ft of torque.

Other new options to the 2011 Ford Super Duty include the Ford Torque Shift Select Shift Automatic, producing bigger, stronger gears than previous transmissions all while using fewer rpm to get moving. The all new class exclusive single-sequential turbocharger also provides power now, instead of later, because Ford knows it only matters when you need it. To get more power and torque when you need it most, Ford engineers moved the turbocharger closer to the cylinder heads, because closer proximity means more power faster.

The Select Shift Automatic was upgraded to two modes to ensure driver initiated functionality. The Progressive Range Select limits the range of gears to lock out overdrive for consistent speeds over hills and mountain ranges while the Full Manual Mode allows drivers to go up and down the gearbox, putting them fully in control.

With all-new powertrains enabling greater towing and payload capability, safety enhancements such as Trailer Sway Control added, and greater functionality with available Ford Work Solutions, the new 2011 Ford Super Duty is poised to continue its legacy as America's premier work truck.
