Fashion meets hospitality: newest trend for Hotels in Milan.

October 11, 2009

With the anticipated opening of Armani Hotel, the success of Bulgari, Straf and Hotel Gray, Milan fashion and boutique hotels are all the trend.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 11, 2009 -- October 11, 2009 MILAN, ITALY. As Milan’s Armani hotel is set to open in December and Moscino is rumored to open their own branded hotel soon, the fashion capital of the world showcases that boutique and designer hotels are the new trend.

Milan is a mecca for high design- from furniture to fashion. However the phrase, “see and be seen,” doesn’t just mean the people must dress to impress, but now, the establishment must be dressed to impress the clientele. And in turn, hotel and accommodation sites in Milan, like choove.com, have reinvented their websites in suite of these changing trends.

The Bulgari in Milan, considered one of the elite and well-established hotels in the Brera district, is just one of the many fashion houses in Milan who have expanded from fashion to bars to now hotels. Next in suite is Milan’s own Giorgio Armani, who will showcase his own rendition of fashion meets hospitality. All eyes are on how the simple, clean, and classic Armani will personally create his hotel.

But its not just designer-owned hotels that are all the rage in Milan. It’s also the boutique hotels that make fashion and design their selling point. From Hotel Straf who hired the couture fashion designer Vincenzo de Cotis to create an atypical and fashion forward space to the Gray hotel who uses floating staircases and hanging beds to categorize their hotel as out of the box, high design. Anything is possible in terms of fashion and design in Milan, which may be why the Principe di Savoia just underwent $50 million in renovations to their luxury institution. Why? The Prinicipe di Savoia is known in Milan like the Park Plaza is known in NYC. But the success of the boutique hotels proves that the classic definition of luxury may be considered old news.

Choove.com recognizes this trend in the hotel industry in Milan, and has altered its website accordingly. The online apartment rental site in Milan, Choove, was recently known solely for its full service apartment rentals in the city, but just expanded to not only include hotels, but also categorized them to make bookings easier. The categories includes “choove selects,” “boutique hotels,” “top ten,” and “it” hotels to help people know where to stay based on what they are looking for. Visiting Milan is about fashion and design, and you don’t want to miss these two important factors when booking a hotel.

Choove recommends to “be informed of the city you visit, and if that city is Milan, make sure to book with fashion in mind.”
