Faulty Hip Replacement Systems will make J&J and Zimmer $5 Billion Poorer

And sad to say, the all-metal implants had a not-so-impressive performance. In fact, a study conducted by Times within the five-year period no metal implants had outlived the older version of the device. In fact 30% of the newer version of all-metal implants was worse.

Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy division and Zimmer Holdings are the two biggest all-metal hip replacement manufacturers plagued with controversies. As of October last year, a total of 40,000 for depuy hip recall alone had been recorded.
