“FedEx is strengthening its network globally to equip our customers with enhanced capacity and flexibility. Despite the earthquake in March, Japan has witnessed a rebound and a 2.8% rise in export volumes in August,” said David L. Cunningham Jr., president, Asia Pacific, FedEx Express. “With this latest service enhancement, we have responded promptly to rising shipping demand from customers by further strengthening the connectivity between Japan and the rest of Asia-Pacific”.
Kyushu accounts for 10.3% of export value in Japan and is one of the country’s major manufacturing provinces exporting ships and motor vehicles as well as semiconductors and other electronic components.
FedEx is continuously optimizing its global network to better serve its customers. This latest upgrade follows a one-day transit time improvement recently introduced for inbound shipments to greater Tokyo and the Aichi area.
