FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 9, 2011 -- Reentering the workforce is not easy and felony jobs are hard to find. Often ex-felons will complain that no one will give them a job. You can increase the chances of getting one of the better felony jobs by networking and doing all that is possible to be work-ready. In addition, actively look for organizations that help with felony jobs.

We are going to share some tips on how get ready for felony jobs:

Before looking for felony friendly jobs, take the time to get ready to start your job search the right way.

Resume – most HR managers advise not to put anything about your felony on a resume. Create a resume that highlights a job seeker’s skills. Discussing a criminal record with a potential employer can wait until an interview.

Dress for success – to apply to felony jobs, job seekers need to dress appropriately for the application and interview process. Corporate jobs will require a suit. Other felon friendly jobs will most likely call for business casual attire. That means a collared shirt, slacks and good shoes for men while women can wear a business-like blouse and skirt when a job seeker go for an interview for felony friendly jobs.

Character references – try to get some people in the community to offer a personal reference when looking for jobs for felons. Employers will want to know that an ex felon has been rehabilitated and character references can help land a job.

Prepare for the job interview – it is a tough time right now and felony jobs are very competitive. Job seekers need to be prepared and put your best foot forward in the interview for felony friendly jobs.

Background check – when employers do a background check, what information will turn up? Find out because this will give an idea of what to discuss during the job interview for felony jobs. Keep your explanation brief and emphasize how an ex felon is a different person from the one that was convicted. The key here is to show that if hired, the individual will be a good employee and an asset to the company that will hire them.

Here are some tips to Finding Felony Friendly Jobs:

Network! This is the one thing that will probably help out the most when it comes to finding felony jobs. Put a call into friends, family, colleagues and anyone else that might be able to help the job seeker. It is very unlikely that they will be able to give an ex felon a job themselves unless they own a business. Instead, ask them for help in finding a felon friendly job. They can help you look for opportunities that hire felons or even recommend the individual for one.

A parole officer or the parole board will probably have a list of felony jobs available.

Temp agencies may be an ex felon’s best bet if the job seeker is open to the idea of temporary work. Temp felony jobs can lead to permanent employment, too.

Ex-felon employment resources are available. There are organizations that help ex-offenders find felony friendly jobs. Call the state employment agency and ask about resources for felony jobs in your area.

There are some jobs for felons that are normally open available even to those with a colored past. These include truck driving, moving services, pizza delivery, food service jobs (wait staff, counter attendants, bus staff, etc.), construction work and other similar felony jobs.

Although most people prefer a stable job as an employee, it’s worth it to look into the possibility of being self-employed. That way the job seeker will not need to find felon friendly jobs since they will be creating a job for themselves.

Apply to as many felony jobs as possible. This is a cliché but it doesn’t mean it isn’t true: the most important thing is to keep trying and to stay positive. If a job seeker becomes bitter and angry then it will become that much harder to find felony jobs. An ex felon may have to settle for a job that is less than what they feel they deserve. Hang in there and work hard. Once an ex felon has built up a good work history then it will be easier to find better felony jobs.
