• Where possible, research and compile independent news stories in conjunction with Vendor PR Departments and PR Agencies.
• On an ongoing basis maintain the news section and to ensure copy are clean of any spelling and grammatical errors.
• Provide leadership and input for any future development of the news section.
• Write questions monthly for the sponsored polls section of the website.
• Provide design ideas and copy for advertising banners for the PlusPoints Online news portal requested by clients.
Note: Future extensions of PlusPoints Online News (e.g. a printed version will also be included in the responsibilities of the candidate.
PLUSPOINTS NEWSLETTERS
• Weekly research and compile content for PlusPoints Email News and working with design team to successfully prepare the Weekly PlusPoints newsletter for circulation.
• Write introductory copy for the newsletter on a weekly basis.
• Ensure content is correct and clean of any errors and approved by all stakeholders
• Content should be sourced from PlusPoints Online News, new PlusPoints Programme developments and PlusPoints Partner News.
• Manage and disseminate all Tracking Reports to internal and external stakeholders
• Provide input on the layout and design of the newsletter
CLIENT NEWSLETTERS
• Research and compile information for all client electronic newsletters into clean copy from client and internal resources.
• Liaise with designers to compile all newsletters and seek necessary approvals
• Manage the circulation and tracking of all newsletter campaigns and disseminate all Tracking Reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide input on the layout and design of all client newsletters in accordance with the Clients Brand Identity Guidelines.
ONLINE TRAINING COURSES
• Manage yours and the design teams schedule and deadlines of courses
• Research, plan and write all online training courses & test banks from briefs supplied by customers
• Facilitate copy approvals and changes directly with each customer
• Oversee the design and layout of all courses and ensure final approvals are given by customers
• Upload and manage all courses for publication.
• Provide course results on predefined intervals to participating customers
BUSINESS PROPOSALS/INTERNAL & EXTERNAL COMPANY DOCUMENTATION
• Assist with the compilation and writing of Business Proposals and internal and external company documentation, including but not limited to Company Brochures.
PROMOTIONAL COPY
• Assist in the writing of general copy for customer promotional artwork. This includes online and offline copy of a variety of types including advertising, events materials, POS materials, promotional flyers and mailers etc. Work to develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients
CLIENT and AGENCY RELATIONS
• Develop an understanding of all client businesses, and that of their customers and partners.
• Establish and develop relationships with PR Managers, PR Agencies of all IT Vendors and Distributors in South Africa
Identify and communicate new business opportunities.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Support design team and account managers with day-to-day tasks
• Ensure work done by design team is to standard for internal teams as well as client
• Conduct appraisals, and build and maintain development plans
ORGANISATION
• Organise and prioritise workload of yourself and the design team to accomplish specific goals to agreed deadline.
• Apply processes to monitor the progress and results of project tasks both for yourself and for reports.

Requirements
• Journalism qualification
• Creative
• Excellent writing skills
• Proactively maintain and enhance industry knowledge and obtain information about future technology, interact with relevant bodies locally and internationally, to obtain material that distinguishes the magazine from others
• Plan to ensure that there is never a shortage of quality editorial for the publications
• Deadline driven with good leadership abilities and/or the ability to develop further
• Track down news and source articles
• Writing clean copy
• Ability to write under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Accurate eye for detail
• Drivers License and own transport
• Computer literacy: Advanced Microsoft products, example: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
• Interpersonal Communication.
• Good telephone skills
• Work well without supervision
Advantageous
• Marketing/Public Relations experience an advantage
• Design Agency experience an advantage
• Sub Editing skills will be an advantage

Gauteng Enterprise Propeller
The Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) is a provincial government agency established in 2005 under the auspices of the Department of Economic Development to provide non-financial support; financial support; and co-ordinate stakeholders for the benefit of Small Medium and Micro Entrepreneurs (SMME's) in Gauteng.
The Provincial Government's decision to establish GEP as an agency that will support the establishment, growth and sustainability of SMME's in the Province was informed by two key strategic objectives:
- Commitment to halving poverty and unemployment in the country
- Ensuring increased and meaningful participation of SMME's and BBBEE in mainstream economic activities

Your Responsibilities

Your Skills
1- 2 years sales experience with extensive canvassing and cold calling experience.
Experience in pioneering new business coupled with evidence of consistent and current success
Strong interpersonal and social skills
Network of contacts in the relevant sector is a definite bonus
Bachelors degree is desirable
Positive attitude, consultative approach and self-motivation are all essential
