FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Manhattan, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 2, 2010 --Film Annex, online film platform and Web TV Network, has increased the amount of cash it pays to the winners of its online film contest, War of Films. Starting September 1st, the company will be giving $2000 to the filmmaker with the most popular film on its platform, and $400 to the most active voter.

War of Films is a monthly contest, and the submitted films are judged by the Film Annex audience. The viewers vote on their most and least favorite films every day, and the film that receives the highest number of votes by the end of the month is the winner of $2000. The company also records the number of votes given by each viewer and rewards the person who gave the highest number of votes with $400. The votes are reset at the end of each month, allowing new filmmakers to participate in the contest.

Film Annex launched War of Films back in December 2009 and so far rewarded seven filmmakers with $1000 (two of them have won twice). In addition, the company rewarded several voters with $100 within the past eight months. Film Annex founder and president Francesco Rulli describes War of Films as a “one-of-a-kind contest” as it is not a one-time only event and gives filmmakers the opportunity to compete and win multiple times. Even though a filmmaker cannot win twice with the same film, she can participate and win with different films every month. “War of Films is a great way for filmmakers to promote their films online while raising money for their future projects,” Rulli said. The recent winners come from different parts of the world, including Australia, England, Mexico, and the US.

In order to be able to compete in the contest, filmmakers need to upload their films on www.filmannex.com. In addition to the cash prize, the winners are offered free Web TV Channels on which they can present their films and generate monthly revenues. With the War of Films, Film Annex intends not only to encourage and increase the amount of time and energy filmmakers put into the promotion of their films, but also increase viewer participation and create an film community on the web.
