DALLAS – January 14, 2011 – From 15,000 to 20 to 7. Now it is down to the final four candidates in the running for the Good Morning America (GMA) Advice Guru job search. “GMA” surprised the final four with the live announcement today. Fran Harris, WNBA Champion and former HGTV host, is one of the finalists chosen to move ahead to the next round.
“This truly is a dream come true,” said Harris. “Having the chance to do what I love as a life coach on an award winning morning show is a phenomenal opportunity.”
The next step for the final four is for “GMA” to shoot a segment with each finalist in their hometowns. They will then be flown to New York for a week-long extensive interview process that includes appearing live on “GMA.”
“GMA” is searching for someone to join its team and answer questions about love, work, family and much more. Harris is a speaker and a life coach whose varied experience also includes work as a fitness expert, relationship coach, corporate trainer, entrepreneur and AAU youth basketball coach. “I’ve helped people work through almost every problem imaginable,” said Harris who hosted HGTV’s “Home Rules” a show about life and home transformation.
This is not Harris’ first final four appearance. She has won championships at every level in her basketball career including UIL, NCAA and WNBA. Harris is hoping history repeats itself again.
