Candidates from leading hotels in the country competed by under going a gruelling panel interview testing their knowledge on costs, profits, revenue, yield management, staffing level, structure, promotional ideas etc! This is followed by a skill demonstration (role-play) where candidates had to think on their feet to identify guest’s needs and matched them with the highest standard of customer care and professionalism. The final being held on Friday 9 October, in Wellington

The Association of Rooms Division Executives of New Zealand (ARDENZ) facilitates the competitions, searching for the best of the best from the Hotel Receptionist throughout the country, to find who will go on to represent New Zealand at the AICR International Receptionist of the Year competition which will be held in Madrid, Spain in January 2010.
