It is very important to understand that First Aid has its limitations and does not take the place of medical treatment. Help from medical professions should be followed after the first aid.

Basic steps that are to be followed in fire accidents are as: Evaluate the situation, does the person have an unobstructed airway, to check if the person is breathing, then to check if the person has major pulse points. Do not move the person unless needed, as it may make injuries even worse. Call for emergency services, or to ask someone to call for help immediately. Do not leave the person alone.

Try speaking to them and by gently shaking if the person is unconscious. If the person is not responding then try to roll onto their back to open the airway. Always keep head and neck aligned. Look and try to feel the signs of breathing. Listen for breathing sounds. First and second degree burns can treat by flushing cool water and do not use ice. Third degree burns should be covered with cloth. Clothes catch Fire, during a fire accident a person’s cloth could catch fire in that case the person should not run, instead person should stop and drop to the ground, person should cover his or her face with hands and then roll.
