FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 18, 2012 -- Japan's Ai Miyazato secured Thursday's first-round lead in the Honda LPGA Thailand championship at Banglamung with a sparkling 5-under-par 67.
The 14th ranked Japanese player's bogey-free front nine was book-ended by two of the five birdies she posted overall as she edged one stroke clear of the field on day one of the second leg of the LPGA Tour's Asian swing.

Sweden's Anna Nordqvist and seasoned Australian star Karrie Webb shared second place with the South Korean trio of Amy Yang, Se-ri Pak and Na-yeon Choi.( Callaway - Women's RAZR X Iron-Hybrid Combo Set)
Holland's Christel Boeljon and home player Numa Gulyanamitta are a further shot back, with the tightly packed field close behind them.
Miyazato, who triumphed in this event two years ago when she fired a brilliant final-round 63 to win the title by a stroke from Norway's Suzann Pettersen but finished 29th last year, said she had relaxed more, but practiced harder on her short game during the off-season.
"I had a solid game today, putting and hitting the ball quite well," she said.

"I am happy with most parts of my Callaway - Women's RAZR X Iron-Hybrid Combo Set."
The seven-time LPGA Tour winner admitted she had missed too many fairways, but said she had managed to hit back well because of her good short game..
"During the off-season, I worked hard on my Callaway - Women's RAZR X Iron-Hybrid Combo Set and it has paid off," she declared.
"It was long and hot day for me. But I was calm this morning and could control my shots. I will have to use an umbrella a lot tomorrow and will need some ice."

Webb, who was tied for third place last year, said she was happy to get four birdies without dropping a shot because the pin placements had been tough.
The key to winning here, she believed, would be to grab every opportunity with both hands.
"Some of the pins are quite challenging to get to, but once you get on the right section of the green, it's all about making the putt," she said.
Junthima, 24, who is playing Callaway - Women's RAZR X Iron-Hybrid Combo Set in her second LPGA event after missing the cut at the Women's Australian Open, fired five birdies against two bogeys for a 69.

"It could have been better. Unfortunately, I failed to make par putts at the fourth and eighth holes," she said
"Overall, I am satisfied with the result because playing Callaway - Women's RAZR X Iron-Hybrid Combo Set in front of home fans makes you feel nervous."
Defending champion and world number one Yani Tseng, started her second week on tour with a tame one-over-par 73 after a listless, bogey-bogey finish.

Tseng was also the defending champion last week in the first of the LPGA Tour's Asian-based events, but fell well short of a podium place when she failed to come up with the brilliance of last year when she earned 12 titles world wide, including her first four on a spectacular back-to back basis.
American Paula Creamer, one of the crowd favourites, pleased her followers with a hole-in-one at the par-three, 161-yard 12th hole on the way to a 72.
