First ever Introduction to eBusiness Seminar held at DHA Library, Karachi – Dec 14, 2009

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 14, 2009 -- With a pleasant weather after morning rain, The Pakistan eBusiness Initiative launched its first Introductory Seminar on Introduction to eBusiness to bring about awareness – networking – resources. The idea behind the initiative is to bring about change in eBusiness Scenario in Pakistan.

In Pakistan, more than 11% have access to internet but there are no eBusiness activities as it should be. There is no eBay, Paypal or more. There are many reasons for it, firstly local community are not so use to with online shopping, secondly, there are no adequate IT policy to cover both buyer and the seller and finally local hackers and crackers love to crack into IT System. With all negative elements there are some positive elements too like a. the population of internet users b. online banking setup c. risk coverage by insurance companies for economical loss and IT initiative by Government to facilitate public as well as private sector.

There are companies like Telenor offering easy paisa to transfer fund from one user to another user using western union like business model, there are online banking to pay bills and finally there are some real examples like Libertybooks.com and ufone who have a good track record for online sales.

The Pakistan eBusiness Initiative plans to work out and request the policy makers and service provider to create an enabling environment to bring about eBusiness environment in Pakistan, inorder to accelerate growth in each and every fields like eHealth, eGovernment, eLogistics and more.
