On Monday, July 12, 2010, the First Lady spoke at the 101st annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, Missouri, focusing on her Let's Move! initiative. She again turned to Mary Esses to complement her black and white polka dot ensemble by designer Jason Wu. The earrings are from the Textile collection; inspired by the look, texture and feel of fabric. Hand-set in 18k yellow gold, the earrings feature dangling, pear-shaped, deep green quartz stones, accented with bezel-set diamonds and baguettes of pale green beryl. 18 karat “silk” gold knots are used to hold the gems together, created a very unique, signature look, exclusive to Mary Esses.

This marks the third occasion that Mary Esses has been chosen to adorn the First Lady. The other events include the White House State Arrival Ceremony for the Prime Minister and First Lady of India, as well as a private White House ceremony awarding a posthumous Medal of Honor to Sergeant First Class Jared C.
