Five Dallas-Area Collision Repair Facilities to Help Provide the Gift of Reliable Transportation

1

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) is pleased to announce that on Saturday, February 16, the lives of five deserving Dallas-area families will be changed as the National Auto Body Council will facilitate”through its Recycled Rides® program”the gifting of refurbished vehicles to each. The presentation of the vehicles to those receiving them”known as Recycled Rides' Ride-Away Day”will take place at Team Vandergriff Collision Center, one of five participating local area dealership collision centers.

Recycled Rides is a national initiative through which National Auto Body Council members”men and women putting their superior craftsmanship to benevolent use”refurbish donated vehicles and gift them to families in need and organizations dedicated to assisting others. In addition to body shops donating their labor, insurers, paint suppliers, parts vendors and rental car companies are recruited to contribute in their own synergistic ways.

œThe program brings together different segments of the industry for the greater good by providing reliable transportation to those that might not otherwise have access to it, noted Rafael Hinojos, collision business development director for the Van Tuyl Group. œIndustry participants find they get a great lift from putting their skills to use to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Many find it so compelling they decide to repeat involvement, year after year.

Each Recycled Rides event is local in focus, and the program works with charities in specific geographic areas to find qualified recipients needing a vehicle to help them continue leading productive lives.

Two charities are involved in the Dallas-area event. The Irving, Texas chapter of Family Promise is a non-profit interfaith network that provides support to families in crisis. It trains volunteers to act as advisors and advocates for at-risk families, helping them achieve goals and maintain self-sufficiency. Trinity River Mission is a volunteer-based community learning center that promotes literacy, encourages academic success and develops effective life skills among disadvantaged youth in West Dallas, in the belief that education can connect these individuals to life's possibilities.

The cars to be refurbished were donated by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz Rent-a-Car, Farmers Insurance and two of the participating shops. The five local collision centers that donated their labor to refurbish the vehicles are:

Team Vandergriff Collision Center

Vandergriff Collision North

Vandergriff Collision South

Westway Ford Collision (also donated vehicle)

Grapevine Ford Collision (also donated vehicle)

If you are interested in attending the Ride-Away Day event, the vehicles will be gifted from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16 at Team Vandergriff Collision Center (4301 Doskocil Drive, Arlington, TX 76014). If you would like more information about the event, or would like to attend, please contact Rafael Hinojos at rhinojos@vtaig.com or by calling him at (972) 467-9710.
