Five Functions of Rotary Kiln

The rotary kiln has the following five functions:

(1)The rotary kilns is burning equipment. At first, the grinded coal grain is sprayed into the kiln by blower at the front of the kiln. Then heat that is generated by burning is transmitted to the materials by three basic heat transmission ways, namely, the radiation, convection and conduction. As burning equipment, the rotary kiln has broad space and thermal field that can provide enough air. It is installed with good burning device to ensure that fuel burns fully to provide necessary heat for calcinations of the clinker.

(2) The rotary kiln is a sloping rotary cylinder. The oblique general is between 3% and 5%. The raw materials are charged through the high end of the cylinder, that is, the kiln inlet. During the constant rotation of the kiln, the materials move from the low end to high end (i.e. kiln head) gradually. So, the rotary kiln is transportation equipment.

(3) It takes use of the function of the waste degradation. Because the rotary kiln has high temperature field and thermal field with air stagnation for a long time, poisonous and harmful waste that is discharged in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries is biodegradable. At the same time, the most heavy metal elements among them can be solid in clinker to produce the stable salt. Thus, the secondary pollution that is easily produced by "waste incineration kiln” is avoided.

(4) The rotary kiln has the function of the heat exchanger. The rotary kiln has the more uniform temperature field. What's more, it can satisfy the heat transfer requirements in each phase of cement clinker formation, especially the requirements of the generation of alite mineral.

(5) The rotary kiln has the chemical reaction function. During the forming of clinker, there are a series of physical and chemical reactions.

The rotary kiln can meet the requirements of heat and temperature of different minerals on different stages. It also meets the requirement of the time. Therefore, it is the ideal chemical reactor.
