FLAME to organize Innovatips - a workshop on INVENTIVE PROBLEM SOLVING

Pune, Maharashtra, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) December 1, 2010 -- Foundation for Liberal And Management Education (FLAME) will be conducting an innovative workshop on inventive problem solving – ‘Innovatips’ for budding entrepreneurs. This educational workshop will focus on inventive problem solving through I-TRIZ, a way of systematic innovation, a problem-solving analysis & forecasting tool derived from the study of patterns of invention in the global patent literature.

This 4 day workshop starting from the 29th November till 2nd December 2010 will include a gamut of learning processes and problem solving skills by the TRIZ masters Boris Zlotin and Alla Zusman from Russia. The workshop will include basic problem solving skills, case studies, in-depth study of The Elimination Principle, The Alternative Principle & contradiction resolution, the I-TRIZ Methodology, selecting directions for Innovation, the "80/20 Approach" and Iterative Analysis for the solutions and a wide range of student exercises.

Sharing his insights on the workshop, Mr. Parag Shah, Chairman FLAME said” Our robust relationship with TRIZ will not only broaden the horizon of learning for these young entrepreneurs but will also coagulate their analytical and problem solving skills. The TRIZ process presents an algorithm for the analysis of problems in a technological system. The fundamental view is that almost all "inventions" are reiterations of previous discoveries already made in the same or other fields, and that problems can be reduced to contradictions between two elements. The goal of TRIZ is to achieve a better solution than a mere trade-off between the two elements, and the belief is that the solution almost certainly already exists somewhere in the patent literature.

About the TRIZ masters

Boris Zlotin

Mr. Zlotin received his MS in electrical engineering from St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Russia. He has 20 years of experience working in corporate R&D. He is a TRIZ Master with over 35 years of experience in TRIZ and is widely recognized in the TRIZ community and considered one of the foremost theorists and TRIZ scientists in the world today. He is responsible for the majority of the advances made to the methodology to date. He facilitated solving of thousands of various problems, is the author or co-author of 15 books on TRIZ and multiple patents and has conducted numerous seminars, workshops, and lectures. He is the chief Technological Officer and VP at Ideation International Inc.


Alla Zusman

Ms. Zusman received her MS in radio physics from St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Russia. She has over 14 years of experience in corporate R&D and also worked for 3 years as s patent agent. She is a TRIZ Master and has over 25 years of TRIZ experience with patent education. She is one of the main contributers to the development of TRIZ applications¬¬—specifically to ARIZ, the patterns of systems evolution, AFD and DE methodology, and the TRIZSoft® family of software. She is the author or co-author of 14 books on TRIZ and several patents and has conducted numerous seminars, workshops, and lectures. She is the Director of TRIZ products development at Ideation International Inc.
