FLORIDA BIOFUELS SERVICES LP
Florida Biofuels Services LP is a privately held Florida partnership formed in April 2010, that will build and operate a $30 Million Advanced Biofuels facility in South Florida. The project is set to break ground in 2011 and has access to various deep water ports, railway and interstate for it’s 20 million gallon per year refining operation.
Lending credit to the project’s success, the Partnership has concluded a long term agreement with Veotoro (a Florida based commodities hedge fund) for trading and transportation services. Florida Biofuels LP boasts the very latest state of the art production equipment and boasts proprietary technology that will produce approximately 20 million gallons of biodiesel per year and 5-10MW power production by converting a combination of local and regional feedstock into advanced biofuels in a highly efficient way. The plant slated to break ground in early 2011 in South Florida.
The Partnership also announced today it has engaged the highly regarded Florida law firm Fuerst Ittleman PL as their legal counsel and Lemartec engineering and construction corporation for their project development and construction.
The new state of the art facility will have access to nearby pipelines, power grids, deepwater Florida ports, interstates and railways.
“Biodiesel has the best energy balance and the best greenhouse gas reduction of any fuel that is currently in the commercial marketplace and is the only advanced biofuel that has reached commercialization in the US," stated Joe Jobe, CEO of the National Biodiesel Board in February 2010 after the EPA ra-affirmed Biodiesel classification as an “Advanced BioFuels.”
Veotoro Management LLC was established by Virgilio Gumá in 2008 and was formerly a director of commodities trading for Merrill Lynch in London. The trading house will provide intermodal trading, transportation and logistics support to the new facilities.
“We are very excited by the possibilities and optionality presented by this new venture. More importantly, it ticks a lot of the right boxes in terms of the most successful trends in the energy space.” - Virgilio Gumá of Veotoro on Florida Biofuels Services LP July 13, 2010.
