“The ears took center stage as hair was swept off the neck in a simple bun or chignon showcasing a gorgeous diamond stud, creating a ‘ballerina’ effect, a la Natalie Portman,” said Resnick, who has lent his expertise to HSN and QVC. “Most actresses chose to leave their necks bare and accessorize with a simple tennis bracelet or diamond ring. The few necklaces that were worn were delicate and lacey. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the ‘bombshell’ look. Stars like Sophia Vergara, Elizabeth Moss and ‘Mad Men’s’ Christina Hendrix showed off larger than life jewelry.

At an event where you would expect to see lots of bling, there was an understated offering of jewelry this year,” he continued. “An indication that, in the world of jewelry, simple and elegant will prevail.”
