Saturday night, Mrs. North America - Kellie Lightbourn (36) was named the new Mrs. Galaxy International 2012. Beautiful women gathered from all over the world in Chicago, Illinois to compete for the coveted title. As the new Mrs. Galaxy International, Kellie will take home an array of gifts and prizes. The Galaxy International Pageant® is recognized as the premiere beauty and style competition for women of all nations. As such, the Galaxy International Pageant® is a vehicle for personal development and promotion of cultural appreciation. By emphasizing beauty, style, and cultural appreciation the delegates who become part of the Galaxy International Pageant® gain confidence and poise in an increasingly competitive world. As Mrs. North America 2011, Kellie has traveled extensively visiting hospitals, schools and emceeing countless charity events. After her big win Saturday night Kellie stated, “Being Mrs. Galaxy International is a huge responsibility… I’m excited to get back to Florida and get to work.” And she wasn’t kidding; Kellie is already putting her new title to good use! Upon returning home, Kellie is scheduled to make appearances immediately both Nationally & Internationally. Over the next year, she will travel extensively promoting the pageant and causes dear to her heart. Kellie’s husband Nick says this is only the beginning, “I’m so proud of the work Kellie does everyday. She has always been my Mrs. Galaxy. Now, she has the tools to make an even bigger impact.”

Kellie is certainly not just another pretty face; this beauty queen has a very impressive resume. With a Juris Doctorate and Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Kellie started her career as an attorney. Ultimately, she landed a position at ABC Action News as their Legal Anchor. Kellie has been featured on national shows like E! Entertainment, Maury, Designing Spaces and EXTRA. Today, she continues to influence lives as the host of ABC Action News “Consumer Update."

Kellie’s influence goes beyond her role as wife, mother of three-year old twins, and television personality. Always active in her community, she is the founder of the Teen Edge Motivational Program. She also serves on the Board of Directors and as the official spokesperson for Infants and Young Children (IYC) Early Steps program, promoting early intervention for children at risk for disabilities. As co-founder of the National Humane Society in 2000, Kellie’s volunteer efforts have earned her honors including the prestigious Eckerd's "Woman of the Year" and NHS’s "Volunteer of the Year" for her rescue work during 9/11 and Hurricane Charley. As you can see, volunteering is not just something she does… It is who Kellie is!
