Flyover Geeks gets its name from the term flyover states or flyover country, which describes the region between the east and the west coast of the United States. The majority of technology weblogs currently focus on major city hubs on the east or west coast, such as San Francisco and New York, ignoring the technology contributions from the flyover states.

Flyover Geeks will work with the expansive community of technology, social media, interactive and other technology start-ups to help shape future of technology news media and provide exposure to flyover country start-up companies.
