Folk Americana band, The David Wax Museum, Touch Down At The Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival.

April 20, 2011

This past year has seen the band’s profile take a meteoric rise as the catch the attention of industry insiders and music fans alike.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 20, 2011 -- The David Wax Museum will represent the vibrant new class of performers on the scene as Bank of America and Comcast present the Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival on Saturday, June 4, 2011.

Hailed by Time.com a “Joyful Mexo-Americana fusion, with virtuosic musical skill and virtuous harmonies,” they have just returned from the South By Southwest Music Festival where they were named as one of “Ten Acts That Rocked South By Southwest.” Poised to break out, they will join an exciting mix of headliners and emerging artists including Gogol Bordello (acoustic), Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, Ani DiFranco, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Good Old War, Red Horse (featuring Festival favorites John Gorka, Lucy Kaplansky & Eliza Gilkyson), Nicole Atkins & The Black Sea, John Francis, Avi Wisnia, RUNA and performance poet, Napalm Da Bomb.

The David Wax Museum sound was influenced by founder David Wax’s time in Mexico where he integrated their unique sound: a blend of folk, rock, Americana and Mexican folk music. This past year has seen the band’s profile take a meteoric rise with industry attention resulting from successful showcases at South By Southwest music conference and appearances on NPR’s World Café and on-line Tiny Desk Concert series (the latter invitation following a frenetic and fun set at last year’s Newport Folk Festival). A busy year of over 200 live shows was capped off by a win at the Boston Music Awards for Americana Artist of the Year. The David Wax Museum is currently on tour in the United Kingdom and Europe in support of its recently released album, Everything Is Saved.
