Food Safety Firm Champions Hand-washing

With cold and flu season upon us, BMG is ramping up its efforts to encourage frequent hand-washing with soap and water. In the food safety arena, hand-washing is one of the most essential and cost effective weapons against spreading foodborne illnesses. The same is true for preventing the spread of germs and bacteria that cause illnesses such as colds and the flu.

To get the word out about the importance of hand-washing with soap and water, BMG is taking its expertise and training to one of our most valuable resources - our children. Through a community outreach partnership with Georgia Headstart’s McIntosh Trail, BMG will be teaching 115 three to five year-olds the importance of hand-washing and demonstrating proper hand-washing techniques. The young participants will be encouraged to not only make frequent hand-washing with soap a habit, but to urge their parents, guardians, siblings and friends to do the same.
