The new in-store system will help staff to manage stock, using barcodes to more accurately update the central warehouse with sales information and in-store stock levels. Barcode-IT are supplying Datalogic Skorpio terminals, for both the new in-store system and for use in a new dispatch warehouse in Heywood, Lancashire, as part of the continued expansion by Footasylum into new high street locations.

Barcode-IT was selected by Footasylum because of its ability to supply and integrate the data terminals, offer technical support and manage any service or repairs requirements. The in-store application will be developed using MCL, a specialist data terminal control language, to ensure flexibility in data transfer. The solution from Barcode-IT is based on MCL which allows both batch and real time data transfer, via WiFi or GPRS to the host system.
