Football Legends of University of Miami and Florida State Celebrate Its 1st Annual Charity Weekend

Rivalry. It aims to maintain tradition, while breeding giants and forming legends in history. Pride is his primary companion and together, enduring fame is their greatest achievement. Come out to experience and enjoy this long-standing competition between one of the nation’s most acclaimed football rivalries: The University of Miami Hurricanes versus Florida State University Seminoles, in the First Annual Legends Alumni Classic. The Legends Alumni Classic Charity Weekend is an exciting, fun-filled and family friendly event, featuring alumni football players from both universities on August 5th -8th,2011.

Legends Alumni Classic was created to allow former collegiate alumni athletes an opportunity to compete in friendly competition against their ultimate collegiate rival, this four-day long charity weekend celebrates a timeless battle which strives to raise money to support a deserving charity in the community. In its first year, the organization has chosen the Boys and Girls Club as the beneficiary of the charity weekend.

The two participating organizations of the charity weekend, Noles 4 Life and Canes 4 Life, include alumni players from The University of Miami and Florida State; whose main objective is to unite alumni football players of all eras in an effort to give back to the community which cheered for them passionately on the field every Saturday. “It’s a great way to see old friends, but more importantly an outlet to service our community,” says Ken Alexander, director of Noles 4 Life. Former alumni that have been invited to attend this event include Antonio Cromartie, Alonzo Highsmith, Warrick Dunn, Edgerrin James, Peter Warrick, Michael Rump, Anquan Boldin, Santana Moss, Charlie Ward, Gerald Daphnis, Leon Searcy, Reggie Johnson, Ryan McNeil and many more…

Cheer your team on, meet your favorite alumni football player and greet old friends, while supporting this worthy cause. Your attendance in this weekend of events will be beneficial to the performance of the alumni football players when they meet on the field to try and score charitable funds off the field.

Monday, August 8th, 2011 7:30am-until – Legends Alumni Charity Golf Tournament @ Normandy Shores
