Y3KGM Entertainment - Presents TRIBUTE-PALOOZA Concert Series - A High Energy Music Extravaganza combining music and fundraising for charities.
The concept of this concert series was envisioned by Shadow Sky, president of Y3KGM Entertainment, the management and production company producing the show. Shadow, with his friend David Lockhart, lead singer of "Now or Never" band, organized an inspiring event, combining charity fund raising for production of “PURE” - The action thriller, with an underline story that exposes the reality of child trafficking. 100% of the net profits from the film and the attached documentary will be donated to the charity Love146.org and Life Impact International to help abolish child sex slavery.
TRIBUTE-PALOOZA is an explosive amalgam of great music, dancing and compassion. The fun, the energy and infectious rhythms of the songs THAT YOU ALL KNOW will GET YOU DANCING with all the moves of the early Rock ’N’ Roll era. Get ready to lose some weight with our dancing electricity at LA’s Top live music club. The hit songs of Elvis Presley performed by the “Now or Never” band, and Rolling Stones’ rocking songs performed by “Sympathy 4 Stones” band will heat up the club’s atmosphere. Then chill out with a “cooler” set of Steely Dan compositions presented by “Steely Jam” – a 9 piece band. Joe Satriani’s guitar virtuosity performed by “Surfing with an Alien” will be closing the concert on the high note of elegant execution and inspirational climax.
“Now or Never” ( http://www.myspace.com/nowornevertribute) is a new red hot Elvis Presley Tribute band bringing back the charisma, sensuality and performance that inspired millions of fans. Emphasizing the rockabilly in Elvis’ most popular songs, and inspired by his sustaining power and music, producer Shadow Sky and lead singer Dave Lockhart sought out the best musicians in LA to deliver a rocked-up, electric swinging versions of Elvis’ most popular songs. The "Now or Never" show has all the flare of the swing parties of the 1950’s with its wild rocking and jiving, jitterbug, boogie-woogie dancing. The music is irresistible. Legs literally will start moving by themselves. With a special guest, a recording artist Daveed Meiron (www.myspace.com/daveedmeiron), David Lockhart will sing couple of duets in the Elvis’ spirit toward the end of the set.
“Sympathy 4 Stones (http://www.myspace.com/sympathy4stones) is a super hot live "cover" band, based in Los Angeles, dedicated to performing many of The Rolling Stones' greatest hits and cult favorites of the 60's and 70's and all the way up to the present. The band's lead singer, Todd Loweth, does in fact look like Mick Jagger and has the mannerisms and voice to match. He has been performing as Sir Mick for more than two decades. He does wear costumes and makeup and do all the things that you might expect from the real Mick Jagger. He may even prove to be a little over the top sometimes. Sympathy for the Stones will keep you on your feet, lift your spirit and charge your batteries!
“Steely Jam” (www.myspace.com/steelyjam) doesn’t just recreate the sounds of the Steely Dan. The members of the band are Dan scholars, steeped in the music and the influences that made the band so irresistible. It all comes together in performances that are in the truest sense, a tribute. Steely Jam pays homage to the unique and astonishing music, the sound, the sense of humor and sophisticated social satire that Steely Dan created, and continues to create to this day.
“Surfing With An Alien” (http://www.myspace.com/satrianitribute) is the solo project of guitarist Gary Lesley. Coming from the Shredder Streets of Los Angeles, he cut his chops during the era of great guitarist like Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, just to name a few. Being an admirer of all of the above, their music was always an influence and contri buted to the sound of Gary's all instrumental act that blazed the Stages of LA. But one guitarist always seem to have a large influence on his sound and playing more than others, and that was Joe Satriani.... Not only because his playing ability, but the complex structure of his music and his ability to make it sound rather simple was a gift not many have... Gary finally felt his playing had matured to the level to pay tribute to one of the Worlds greatest guitarist MR. Joe Satriani.
For the young generation Tribute -Palooza Concert Series show is a revelation of the youthfulness their parents and grandparents experienced in their hay days and for the Baby Boomers it is an opportunity to feel young again as the energy of these songs and the band’s rendition of them are bringing back the Magic. Hail hail Rock ‘n’ Roll!
Dakota Live Music Lounge, a corporate sponsor of the fundraising part of the night, has a big bar and a great menu to munch on. Seating is very limited, as most of the space is dedicated to dancing. It is highly recommended to arrive early. (http://www.dakotalounge.com)
