FORTY FORT, Pa. – Fortis Institute, a leading post-secondary education institution, wants to ensure that all children in Forty Fort, Pa., have a gift to open on Christmas morning. For the fourth consecutive year, the campus is joining the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s “Toys For Tots” program by serving as a collection point for donations of children’s toys and holiday gifts.
Fortis Institute’s Business Administration/Accounting students, under the direction of instructor Helen Sarnowski, are overseeing the campus effort. Toy donations can be dropped off at the students’ entrance to the main building on campus, 166 Slocum Street in Forty Fort. Through Dec. 16, toys are being accepted Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.; Fridays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; and on Saturdays, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
“The Toys For Tots program does such a wonderful job. We are privileged to be part of this effort here in our community,” said School President Ruth Brumagin. “Helen and her team will be working hard to collect as many toys as possible so this holiday season truly will be one that everyone can celebrate.”
Since 1947, Marine Reservists have been collecting and distributing toys to children of families unable to afford holiday gifts. For more information about the Toys For Tots program, visit www.toysfortots.org.
