FORTIS RECOGNIZES CUYAHOGA CAMPUS AS THE TOP NURSING PROGRAM IN ITS NETWORK OF SCHOOLS

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 17, 2011 -- CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — (Jan. 17, 2011) — The Fortis network of colleges and institutes has announced the winner of its inaugural Nursing Program Awards. During Fortis’ Fall Meeting, the Top Nursing Program Award was bestowed for highest NCLEX-RN pass rate along with the Nursing Program Innovation Award.

The NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) Pass Rate Award was presented to the Registered Nursing (RN) program with the highest pass rate during the first two quarters of the year. The 2010 Education Affiliates NCLEX Pass Rate Award: Top Registered Nursing Program was won by Fortis College, Cuyahoga Falls (Ohio). During the first half of the year, the program achieved a 100% pass rate, well above the 90% benchmark every nursing school tries to meet.

“I salute our nursing staff and students for their unqualified success, and thank them for bringing this significant honor to our campus,” said Fortis College, Cuyahoga Falls President Carson Burke.

The Fortis Nursing Program Innovation Award is presented to the program that demonstrates innovative strategies for improving satisfactions and outcomes on student, faculty and community levels, as well as meeting corporate goals for NCLEX pass rates, student retention and completion rates, among others. For 2010, Fortis College, Cuyahoga Falls also earned this honor. The campus program was recognized for historically strong NCLEX pass rates, excellent leadership and willingness to share its models for success with other programs.

“The standards our program set to earn these recognitions exemplify what every elite nursing program strives to achieve,” Burke noted. “Our students can be assured they are receiving one of the best nursing educations available anywhere and their outcomes far exceed those found at many smaller, public sector programs.
