New "Transition to Green" program will link talent to opportunity in the new green economy on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 29, 2009 -- Madison, NJ -- Job seekers interested in the green economy will have the opportunity to meet subject matter experts in sustainability and green jobs while participating in highly customized activities at the Transitioning to Green™ Forum at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Madison campus on Sunday, October 4 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Spearheaded by Jeana Wirtenberg, PhD, co-founder of the Institute for Sustainable Enterprise and lead author of "The Sustainable Enterprise Fieldbook: When It all Comes Together," this engaging and highly interactive Forum will comprise:

An online Transitioning to Green Career Self Assessment to be completed prior to the one-day program, tapping into aspirations, interests, skills and capabilities.

Forum to Help NJ Job Seekers Follow the Green Brick Road

/> • A customized Transitioning to Green package of potential career paths and options linked to the individual’s specific profile to be provided at the beginning of the one-day program.

An interactive Transitioning to Green program offers attendees the opportunity to participate in creative, dynamic group exercises guided by certified Transitioning to Green facilitators. This program will help participants gain an understanding of the current, global transformation to the green economy, and how they can begin the process of identifying their place in the larger context of this transformation.

Transitioning to Green Industry and Functional Expertise – One-on-one interaction with experts from industries including energy, finance,

transportation, building and construction, manufacturing and retail, health care, communications and media, as well as emerging entrepreneurial opportunities in the new green economy. These discussions will enable participants to explore how they can transfer their existing skills into the green economy. The program is geared toward professionals in all areas from IT, research and development, human resources and organizational development to supply chain, engineering, sales and marketing, compliance, health and safety, public relations, and more.
