FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
D.C., Washington, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 27, 2011 -- Washington, D.C. October 27, 2011 — The Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE), the leading non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the United States’ image abroad through American art, is thrilled to announce that FAPE’s Chairman, Jo Carole Lauder, and her husband, Ronald S. Lauder, have been awarded the World Monuments Fund’s 24th Annual Hadrian Award.

Presented annually by World Monuments Fund since 1988, the Hadrian Award honors international leaders whose patronage has greatly enriched the appreciation and conservation of art and architecture around the world. The Hadrian Award was inspired by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, a brilliant commander and administrator, and a great patron of the arts, who demonstrated a concern for the survival of outstanding artistic works and a desire to convey the standards embodied in these works to his contemporary world.

The Lauders have been honored in recognition of their roles as leading international philanthropists in the worlds of art and culture, science and medicine, and Jewish heritage preservation— including their establishment and support of the World Monuments Fund’s Jewish Heritage Grant Program. The Lauders will be recognized at the 2011 Hadrian Award Gala at The Plaza in New York City on October 27.

The Director of FAPE, Jennifer Duncan, said “On behalf of the members of FAPE, we would like to extend our congratulations to Jo Carole and Ronald. We are so proud of the work they do and are privileged to have their support and leadership guiding FAPE.”
