Free Bar-B-Que Sponsored by the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 9, 2010 -- The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating the first full day of summer on June 22 from noon until 2:00 with a free (FREE!) BBQ picnic at Lurker Park in East Hanover for Chamber members and local business people. All that’s needed for admission is a business card.

Chamber members are strongly urged to attend, as elections for the Chamber Board of Directors will be held at the BBQ. If you miss it, you don’t get to vote. Local business people who are not members of the Chamber are equally welcome to come for a free barbecue lunch and networking with members of the Chamber.

Catering will be by Apple Spice Junction in Parsippany, and the menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, veggie burgers, baked beans, pasta salad, potato salad, fresh fruit, cookies, brownies, and assorted beverages. Activities will include bocce ball and horseshoes in addition to, of course, eating and networking.

We are inviting a number of area elected officials who may want to speak or answer questions about the local business climate. We’re hoping that East Hanover Mayor Joe Panullo will have a few words to kick off the event.

Elections for the Board of Directors will he held. The slate includes:

Trustee - Bill Treloar of Rank Magic and East Hanover Online

Filling out unexpired terms and not on the ballot are Greg Struckus of Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Rich Murgittroyd of Weichert Realtors.

The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is devoted to improving the business climate and community well being in the markets it serves, namely; Cedar Knolls, East Hanover, Florham Park, Whippany and surrounding communities. Recent meetings have featured then Acting Governor Richard Codey and State Senator Joseph Pennachio. The Chamber often invites local mayors and other business leaders to address meetings. Presentations focus on government relations and educational presentations on subjects as diverse as social media (like LinkedIn and Facebook), email marketing, business tax deductions, managing a small business web site and more.
