FREE HEALTH FAIR FOR UNINSURED AND NEEDY FAMILIES
Las Vegas, Nevada (May 2, 2011)–United Citizens Foundation (UCF) is pleased to announce a free health fair benefiting the uninsured and needy families in Southern Nevada. The fair will be held at Cashman Center, located at 850 Las Vegas Boulevard North, on May 7, 2011 from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

The health fair will offer individuals and families the following medical services: Blood Pressure Screenings, Blood Sugar Screenings, Vision Screenings, Skin Lesion Screenings, Pediatric and Vaccine services, Breast Cancer Screenings and much more. Free hygiene packs will be given out each hour.
Participants are encouraged to bring their old pill bottles for new prescriptions offering limited refills. No medication will be given at the fair, only refill prescriptions. No narcotics will be prescribed.

“UCF’s health fair is extremely important to the numerous uninsured citizens of Las Vegas, particularly in this poor economy,” said Rima Jagtiani, President of UCF. “According to estimates, nearly one out of every four Nevadans is without health insurance.” The health fair is being led by Dr. Kalpana Reddy, who is passionate about serving the local community through the foundation.
United Citizens Foundation (UCF) is a nonprofit organization with zero administrative costs, and is a community service organization that strives to conduct events critical to supporting our community’s needs.
UCF’s grand sponsors include Workforce CONNECTIONS, Women’s Cancer Center, and Nevada Heart and Vascular. Other participants in the health fair include Red Rock Medical Center, Las Vegas Skin and Cancer Clinic, UNLV Dental School, and Southwest Medical Associates.
