Free One-Day Event Explores Technological Advances in Freeze Drying

Successful freeze drying relies on an accurate and thorough understanding of the product and its behaviour throughout freeze drying. Many new techniques and technologies are being developed to tighten process control and provide more in-depth analysis of the product before, during and after processing. The goal is to improve efficiency and stability and to facilitate the adoption of freeze drying as it moves into new areas in biotechnology and advanced materials.

This meeting will showcase presentations from academic and industry perspectives on the new frontiers of freeze drying and potential applications in research, formulation and process development and production.

Topics include:

-The application of freeze drying microscopy in the context of improving formulation and process development
- Frequency modulated spectroscopy, a relatively new analytical technique, promises enhanced quality control and post-process analysis including long-term stability studies

-The emerging process technology of controlled ice nucleation will be introduced and its benefits in ensuring batch uniformity and repeatability
