Frustrated or Out of Work at Middle Age--Do You Believe Things Will Get Better?

February 24, 2012

Dominant positive emotions and hopeful expectations help ensure a favorable ultimate outcome so if you are out of work or at a career dead end, believe in yourself!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 24, 2012 -- "In 1990, out of work after two promising business ventures fell through, I was fast losing confidence in my ability to restore positive emotions and jumpstart my career." So decscribes the sad past predicament of Roy Richards who today is "extremely content as a speaker, personal coach, consultant and author of two books on mid-life renewal."

At wit's end, Richards retained a professional guidance counselor. During their first session, the wise counselor looked him straight in the eyes and declared:

"If you truly believe things are going to get better, they undoubtedly will. If you do not earnestly believe that things will get better, they probably will not."

"At the time, I was taken aback, even offended!" recalls Richards. "Was I paying a generous hourly stipend to listen to this simpleminded platitude?" Over the years, his attitude has changed 180 degrees: " I have come to appreciate my counselor's simple but straight-to-the-point advice. If you are out of work or frustrated, this may apply to you: positive emotions and hopeful expectations can indeed play a significant role in accomplishing an ultimately favorable outcome."

Whatever your challenge, Richards asserts the immediate solution is deceptively simple: "Start believing in yourself!" Before launching a job search or new business venture, Richards suggests asking yourself this question:

"In my heart and soul do I honestly believe that I can take control of a successful journey from the present to a lifetime of joy and contentment while helping others along the way?"

For those who answer "yes," Richards issues a new challenge: "Spell out in exquisite detail targeted immediate and long-term goals for your remaining productive years. Spend time daily imagining your joy and satisfaction as each target is accomplished. If one of your goals is to amass significant financial resources, imagine specific amounts you will have at various ages and stages then visualize the lifestyle you will lead. How will you allocate your money? Who will you help?"

Richards urges anyone burned out by their present mid-life situation to lighten up! "Perhaps like me you are your own toughest critic. I urge you to believe, perhaps at first on faith alone, that once you convince your subconscious mind of a joyful, prosperous future, your newly self-reliant conscious mind will take charge and instruct you exactly how to proceed. You will find a way---it's a scientific fact!"

"No one can guarantee a life of constant bliss, that's not the way the world works! I do promise that you can equip yourself emotionally to meet any challenge! As a wonderfully created woman or man, you have the inherent capacity to approach every trial, large or small, with the confidence to influence an ultimately favorable outcome. Untold millions have uncovered the secret of supreme self-reliance, so can you!"

Richards concludes: "Don't waste another moment regretting past or present---each day provides a fresh opportunity to advance a worthy positive agenda. Can anyone prevent you from believing in yourself and in a bright future? If someone attempts to hold you back and is unable or unwilling to change, you may need ultimately to divorce yourself physically or emotionally from that negative individual. In truth, no one in the world will benefit from your continued distress."
