I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a musical comedy with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts. It is the second-longest running Off Broadway musical. The musical was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding Off-Broadway musical in 1997.

Located in Downtown Fullerton the Skyroom is the new, outdoor dinner theatre venue located in the heart of the trendy SoCo District. Surrounded by high decorative walls and an open ceiling, a canopy of the moon and stars are your summer evening's treat.

ABOUT THE CAST
Marla McClure (Performer) is happy to be working with The Relevant Stage again for her second go-around of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! This is her third production overall with the company, having previously performed with TRS in The Last Five Years (Cathy). Other favorite roles include Louise in Gypsy, Miss Dorothy Brown in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Anna in Patrick Marber's Closer. When not on stage, Marla also teaches yoga. Much thanks to Ray for making this production of ILYYPNC possible. And, as always, lots of love to her family and friends.
Darren Giglio (Performer) is thrilled to be working with the amazingly talented cast of ILYYPNC! No stranger to the world of performing, Darren has been seen in numerous shows throughout Los Angeles. Favorite past roles include, Sound of Music (Uncle Max), Into the Woods (Cinderella’s Prince), Beauty & the Beast (Lumiere), Little Shop of Horrors (Dentist/Voice of Audrey II), Clue! The Musical (Professor Plum), and the original production of Thumbelina for which he received an Irene Ryan nomination for his portrayal of the characters Lizardo and Mr. Mole. Darren would like to thank God for his many blessings, his family and friends for their unending support, his fiancée Kendall for inspiring him daily, and Ray for this amazing opportunity.
Shaina Zalma (Performer) is thrilled to be joining the Relevant Stage for this run of “I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change.” She was originally seen in the company’s production of ILYYPNC in 2009 at The Warner Grand. She’d like to thank Ray for all the new experiences and challenges in theatre he has brought her way. Past performance highlights include “The Farndale Avenue …Murder Mystery” (Thelma) with the Kentwood Players, “American Reflections,” which performed inChina , “Frankenstein a re-animation” (Mary Shelley), “Rumors” (Claire), “Sweeney Todd” (Johanna), and “You Never Can Tell” (Mrs. Clandon).
Ray Buffer (Performer/Director) is pleased to bring I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change back to the stage for performances in both San Pedro and Fullerton. Ray is the founder and producing artistic director of The Relevant Stage - San Pedro‘s musical theatre company, now in it’s fourth exciting year. Ray has a rich background in all aspects of theatre production and most recently appeared in Tear Entertainment’s Romeo & Juliet (Montague), Broadway In The Park’s The Sound of Music (Captain Von Trapp); Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Adam Pontipee), Kiss Me Kate (Fred Graham), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Lawrence Jameson), and The Christmas Carol (Bob Cratchet/Young Ebenezer) all at TRS. He thanks Shaina, Marla and Keith for lending their talents to this production, as well as the outstanding creative staff and musicians. Next up for Ray will be directing the Summer production of Annie, a joint performance between TRS and TRS Youthorizons on the stage at Warner Grand Theatre.
Stephen Pu (Music Director & Piano) is a native of Orange County, California, where he studied piano performance and voice with Ming-I Chen. He has won several prizes at regional piano competitions, including top honors at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival. As a pianist, he has appeared in California and Hawaii to warm applause. As a singer, he has sung with many renowned ensembles and appeared on several major stages, including Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl. He has also sung on recordings with Angeles Chorale and produced the first recording of the music to Gypsy Prince (1801). As an actor, Stephen has appeared in many musicals and operettas, performing in Claremont, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and New York's Fordham University. He is also a noted conductor, serving as Music Director for Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood for over five years, and conducting on such notable stages as UCLA's Royce Hall. As a teacher, Stephen has extensive experience in piano and vocal pedagogy, as well as teaching musicianship and theory. He holds a California Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Music, and he was recently nominated for membership in Golden Key International and Phi Lambda Theta, an invitation-only network that recognizes excellence in teaching. Stephen holds a Master of Music degree from UCLA and is currently a Walker/Parker Fellow at Claremont Graduate University, where he is pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. With The Relevant Stage, Stephen has appeared onstage in Forever Plaid and The One and Only.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change premiered at the off-Broadway Westside Theatre, New York City, on August 1, 1996 and closed on July 27, 2008, after 5,003 performances. Directed by Joel Bishoff, the cast featured Jordan Leeds, Robert Roznowski, Jennifer Simard, and Melissa Weil.
First produced in the UK at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley, followed by a short season in the West End Comedy Theatre in 1999, it was revived in London at the Jermyn Street Theatre in 2005, presented by Popular Productions Ltd. A Mandarin Chinese version debuted in Beijing, China, on June 20, 2007, and it had been also reproduced by LANCreators, Taiwan's only group producing Broadway musicals, and performed, in English, at the Crown Theatre, Taipei, from November 3, 2007.
In 2009 It was reproduced in Istanbul (Turkey) by Enis Fosforoğlu Tiyatrosu, starring nationally known Turkish songwriter-singer Murat Evgin, Sibel Tüzün (who represented Turkey in Eurovision Song contest 2006), Seren Fosforoğlu, Barbaros and Başay Okay.
It has been translated into 13 languages including Hebrew, Spanish, Dutch, Hungarian, Czech, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Portuguese, German, Catalan, Finnish, Mandarin and Norwegian.
It has played sit-down productions in Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, London, Tel Aviv, Mexico City, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Budapest, Sydney, Prague, Seoul, Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Tokyo, Manila, Wiesbaden, Heidelberg and Christchurch.
