Fully booked classrooms: successful Time of Flight Diffraction Training Course by SGS in China

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 6, 2010 -- The SGS NDT Training and Examination Center organized a Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) training course in Shanghai, China which proved to be a great success, with fully booked classrooms and a pass rate of over 80%.

The course is accredited by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) (http://www.bindt.org) and meets the requirements of the EN 473 Standard. At the end of the course, an optional examination in accordance with the SNT or PCN/EN 473 was offered.

This was the first time and due to high demand, SGS will continue to provide Non-Destructive Testing training courses in China and other regions on a frequent basis. The next regular courses are scheduled for March 2010 in SGS Netherlands, followed by courses in May, August and November in SGS Shanghai. By special request the courses can be held in SGS affiliate or client locations.

SGS explains the great interest for these courses with the general insufficient knowledge in the application of the new TOFD technology which led to flaws remaining undetected. SGS’s capability to provide quality TOFD courses in both English and Chinese languages helps the industry to perform more reliable and accurate inspections which in turn improve product standards.
