Fully mobile crushers as part of total In-pit crushing and conveying solutions

Truck and shovel are optimal when flexibility in mine operation and annual capacity are required. In other applications IPCC is becoming an increasing competition for truck and shovel operation.

In-pit crushing and conveying(IPCC) systems consist mainly of the shovel or hydraulic excavator, semi-mobile crushing station with few trucks or fully mobile crushing systems without truck haulage, shiftable and stationary conveyors and the waste dump system with a spreader.

The development of crushing technology, i.e. sizer and hybrid crusher, enabled the use of compact crusher types in semi-mobile but especially in fully mobile crushing systems. Liming’s patent pending new design of a fully mobile crusher has eliminated the disadvantages of pervious mobile crushers and can be used for high capacities.

IPCC with semi-mobile crusher stations reduces truck haulage to shuttle between shovel and crusher. IPCC with a fully mobile crusher completely replaces truck haulage by conveyors.

IPCC has proven to be superior to truck in shovel in operating costs at nearly equal capital costs and so reach break even after few years. Conveyor haulage and according relocation have been proven procedures inn lignite mines for decades and are in the ssame way applicable to IPCC systems.

IPCC need more planning efforts in the equipment selection, the mine development and the waste dump planning. Liming assists customers by planning and feasibility studies.
