The FMS consists of 7 functional movement pattern tests that are performed and then analyzed by our therapists. Scores are then converted to % injury risk. The FMS is a proven system designed as a screening tool to predict an athlete’s predisposition for non-contact injury based on the deficits that present during their screening. The system goes on to prescribe corrective exercises for deficits found during the screen.
Why is Functional Movement Screening (FMS) Important?

For the long-term durability of an athlete Functional Movement Screening is essential in identifying and correcting any abnormal movement patterns, compensatory movements, and asymmetries that will lead to micro-trauma. Following analysis of the screen, a tailored program (called a corrective exercise program) can be created to address any asymmetries and/or deficits.
