Funding Awards Available for Medical Laboratory Students
Scholarships totaling $10,000 will be awarded for a second year in a row to medical technology students by the American Proficiency Institute.

Traverse City, MI – Scholarships totaling $10,000 will be awarded for a second year in a row to medical technology students by the American Proficiency Institute (API).
API President, Daniel C. Edson, announced, “We were so impressed with the caliber of students interested in the medical laboratory science field, that we were compelled to offer five additional scholarships this year. We hope these scholarships will not only attract visionary leaders to the profession, but will also help to alleviate the nationwide shortage of laboratorians.”
Scholarship applications are available at www.api-pt.com, through Medical Technology program directors in the United States, or through the API Facebook page. Junior- and senior-level medical laboratory science students are encouraged to apply. Interested students should complete the application and submit it to their program director for a statement of support and signature. Program directors must submit the completed applications to API by Friday, November 13, 2009.
API will award five scholarships worth $2,000 each. Names of the winners will be made public on December 15, 2009.
