FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 18, 2012 --MINNEAPOLIS, MN, January 18, 2012 — In an effort to raise money for local pet rescues, a book is being published to showcase adopted (rescued) dogs from local Twin City pet rescues. “Rescue Dogs of the Twin Cities” (www.rescuedogsbook.org) is a coffee table book that will feature photos of rescued & adopted dogs from all over the Twin Cities metro area.

“We are looking for people to submit a photo of their beloved dog that they adopted from a rescue. There is a fee to do so, but all proceeds go to the nonprofit rescue of their choice. The idea is to provide a super easy way for hard-working rescues to raise funds” said Jenna Berneck of Rovernight Network who is sponsoring this fundraising program.

”This beautiful book is a great way to help dogs in desperate need and to honor your beloved pet at the same time. It’s a genuine keepsake!” says Leisa Luis-Grill of Small Dog Rescue of Minnesota.

There are several submission choices for dog owners; photo sizes range from 1/12 of a page ($27.50) to a full page ($400). Some of the packages include book copies. Local photographers Amber Johnson (Modern Life Photo) and Tara Engle (Tara Engle Photography) have donated photo sessions and digital prints to the dogs who are first to secure the front & back covers ($600 & $500). Some of the photos already submitted are featured on the fundraiser Facebook page.

“As an all-volunteer organization, Pet Haven appreciates that it is incredibly easy to receive donations from Rescue Dogs of the Twin Cities. We have had longtime supporters submit their dogs’ photos to the book, and Pet Haven receives a donation. It’s very easy!” says Karen Scott, President Pet Haven Inc. of MN.

Photo submissions will be accepted on their site until the book reaches capacity; they are hoping this will be sometime this spring. The books will be available in either soft or hard cover and sold online as well as in some local stores.

"We are so excited about this idea! What a great and easy way to raise funds for our rescue! It is so meaningful and special to see the adorable pictures of our babies who are in their loving forever homes!! We are looking forward to even more ADOPT ME! dogs in the book.” says Sue Bergeson, Adopt Me! Dog Rescue.
