Gabbana and Dolce History

Domenico Dolce, fashion designer, was born on September 13th, 1958, within Polizzi Generosa, a little village close to Palermo, Sicily.On November 14th, 1962, Stefano Gabbana was born in Venice, Italy. Dolce learned about fashion design within Sicily and worked within his family's tiny clothing factory. Yet, Gabbana possessed no fashion education; he'd learned about graphic design.

Gabbana and Dolce met within 1980 as they were employed as assistants within an atelier inside Milan. As they began business with one another in 1982, they continuously did freelance designing for other people.

Their original collection within 1986 won them international acclaim, and their initial boutique was opened in '89 inside Japan. In '90 they introduced their initial gentlemen's collection and opened up their first lady's boutique inside Milan. That very same year, they started making the Complice line for the Genny Group inside Milan (Complice was made by Versace from '75 to '81, then by Claude Montana 'til '87.) Accessories, perfume, beach wear, ties and scarves were added within 1992.

This company recently published a book entitled "Ten Years of Dolce & Gabbana," talking about the history of the partnership using photographs of high-end photographers. The partners additionally just recorded a CD that has dance floor music underneath the Dolce and Gabbana label.
