http://www.greatcoveautos.com The way it looks right now GM will be keeping Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC at the top of their list! Keystone Brands that will have a large impact on the market! Their focus is intense as it keeps Buick to trap the Chinese market. They are targeting those who might be swayed by Lexus and Mercedes by keeping the Cadillac brand that is projected to perform well. New things lay on the horizon for Cadillac as they introduce the volts luxury brother the Converge. Of course GM would keep Chevy. The long standing GM choice by the masses will continue in the future to be the staple of GM's expansion.
Two brands for GM will continue in their GM tradition but will become subsidiaries of the company. These two brands are Daewoo and Holden.
While GM is keeping all these brands intact there are a few that will either be phased out or come under different ownership. Pontiac stands alone as the only brand to be phased out starting in 2010. Hummer is being bought by an Industrial company out of china. A Swedish group called koenigsegg is purchasing saab. The Penske Automotive Group will be purchasing Saturn and last of all the Canadian Group Magna International will be buying Vauxhall and Opel names.
With the fat cut and the strong living on, GM should seems to be a stronger smarter company and will hopefully rebound well from their financial issues.
