George del Barrio of Hawaii based PMG International (2003) started working with online social media strategies around 2000 with the release of MySpace. Working alongside artists and record labels and their marketing teams, George was of the first to spark online fan engagement within the music industry.
Utilizing this same methodology, George opened PMG International here in Hawaii and implemented the same process to home-based business. As the natural development of social sites became apparent, George started mapping results and saw a common consistency with the Google algorithm and social media behavior. The last and most aggressive movement to happen was the opening of Facebook in 2005. As MySpace spoke to the youth, Facebook spoke to the rest of the world. As the internet started to grow into an information and retail environment through social channels like Facebook, the term Social Media was born. However, because of the early assistance helping indi music labels with their online marketing via MySpace, by 2005 George was already a veteran of “the conversation”.
Utilizing a social media conversational loops (Facebook, Twitter, Blogging YouTube), George has configured extremely successful social media campaigns that to this day still hold powerful positions on search engines. Outside of using social media hot spots like Facebook and the tools of text-based marketing, it’s the social media videos produced by George are now hovering around the 4.1 million views. Creating a conversational hot-spot on social media is the key to organic engagement.
Currently George is spending more time as a speaker on his current themed mission, “Social Media – It’s NOT About You, It’s About THEM”. In a real-time world when life happens and it’s spun out on Blogs, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, George practices the same thought during his speaking sessions. George is, thus far, the only speaker that goes real time, live on the internet and shows you how his initiatives for his clients are working.
In this session George will be explaining how social media for Realtors is changing the marketing dynamics for listings and buyers. For the investors, George will be explaining how using social media the right way can help you track/forecast buying and selling trends.
