A new report issued by the Mortgage Bankers Association showed that nearly one in every eight Georgia mortgage-holders was more than 30 days behind on their loan at the end of the third quarter, giving the state the sixth highest delinquency rate in the country. A study by the quarterly National Delinquency Survey showed that 16 percent of Georgia mortgage-holders were behind on payments, compared to 14 percent for the nation.
