Get in2 China Announces Partnership with Southern Methodist University

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 18, 2011 -- Get in2 China has been in business since 2007, and it's widely known for helping individual students come to China to learn Chinese. Get in2 China is proud to announce that it's formed a partnership with Southern Methodist University (SMU), allowing students to visit China during their summer recess from SMU.

Before arriving in China, all SMU participants are screened to determine their Chinese language skills and professional interests. Then, each student is paired with a Chinese company for a professional internship. The students work under the leadership of a Chinese supervisor, and they're given real tasks to perform. They practice their Chinese, of course, but they're also allowed to brush up their business skills and gain on-the-job experience. At the end of the internship, each student is given a valuable letter of recommendation.

SMU students aren't expected to simply work during their time in China. Get in2 China believes that learning about the Chinese culture is an important part of any education. SMU students take guided tours through famous monuments, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Ming Tombs. They are also treated to many authentic Chinese meals. Students can also enroll in Tai Chi classes to get some exercise and learn yet more about the culture.

As part of the package, students take intensive Chinese language courses, to improve their vocabulary and increase their comprehension. These classroom lessons are held in the beautiful Get in2 China language school in the heart of Beijing.

The SMU and Get in2 China partnership has been in place since early 2011, and one set of students has participated. These students came home with rave reviews about their experience, and the SMU administrators report that many students have expressed interest in attending during the summer of 2012. Get in2 China hopes to form yet more partnerships with American colleges and universities in the coming years, so even more students can learn more about the language and the culture of China.
