Most colleges will measure your placement exam scores against your grade point average acquired during high school. If you earned a high GPA in high school your test scores may not need to be as high. If your GPA in high school is not that strong, your placement test scores will need to be higher. Knowing where you fall on the scale should allow you to set goals for a minimum score needed on the placement exam.

You will be able to take the ACT a few times in order to obtain a good score. Only the report from the test date you choose will be forwarded to the colleges you are applying to.
