FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pune, Maharashtra, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) November 20, 2011 -- Create a chain of talent of Indian Professionals: Dr. Vijay Bhatkar
With the growing expectations of the world from Indian Technology Professionals , there is a need of creating a “Brain-Chain” of Indian Talent; observed Dr. Vijay Bhatkar.
He was speaking at a lecture arranged by GITPRO (Global Indian Technology Professionals Association), Pune chapter. The topic was “Brain-Drain to Brain-Chain”

Dr. Bhatkar outlined the shift in dominating economies of the world. He said,” Indian economy was dominant till 16th, 17th century. But later due to aggressions and the disintegrated approach, India lost its position. The 18th & 19th century was dominated by Europeans, 20th century by Americans, and the 21st century belongs to the Asians. There is growing expectation about Indian economy again dominating the world. One of the CIA report has
predicted that India will lead the world within next 4 to 5 decades.”

Dr. Bhatkar further elaborated on the shift in the philosophy and metaphysical concepts across the world. The world is again showing interest in the, the “Shakti” beyond the five senses, the concept of power “chakras” of human being. The world has realized that while in the west, the thinking pattern is compartmentalised or individualized; the Indian society teaches about Integrated Thinking and having a holistic view. So, Indian culture preaches to conserve the eco- system than to conquer it. If the concept of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam - the whole earth is a family” is not adopted; there is a danger to very existence of mankind.
Dr. Bhatkar explained the journey of Indian Talent since the 1960s and 70s. Having the institutes like IITs, India had generated enough talent but lacked in the facilities and the opportunities for them.

This was the “Brain-Drain” phase and there was uproar against it. With the need for enhanced efforts in the Research and Development in the US and Europe, the companies opened their houses in India due to cost advantage. This created ample opportunities her and resulted in attracting the talent. This phase can be called as “Brain-Gain”. Now the time has come to create the synergy out of the “Brain-chain” of Indian professionals all over the world.

Organizations like GITPRO can help start this process so that innovative contributions to overall progress of the nation can be achieved. He also proposed to create a Network of networks such as network of GITPRO & GIST.
He stressed the need of contribution by IT professionals in improving the state of the infrastructure and governance as a duty to give back to the society. He said that making e- Governance mandatory can solve a lot of problems before the common man including corruption.

In the beginning, Mr. Ravi Gogte, while introducing the GITPRO; elaborated the need and mission of GITPRO. Mr. Khanderao Kand started this movement in the US and now has three chapters operating even in India. While there are representative bodies for the professionals in the other sectors, there was no representative body for the IT professionals. GITPRO aims to create a network of the IT professionals so that this vacuum can be filled.
Mr. Ajit Deshpande explained the activities of Pune chapter such as mentorship and support to academia. He introduced the core team of GITPRO to the audience.

The event was held at Symbiosis Atur Centre in Model Colony, Pune and was well attended by several IT professionals and students. The programme was anchored by Mr. Prashant Pund. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sudhir Singh. The programme was concluded with the “Prarthana” recital by Mrs. Gauri Deshpande. GITPRO Pune mentor is Mr. Ravi Gogte. GITPRO core team members in Pune are Ms. Anjali Mishra, Mr. Ajit Deshpande, Mr. Prashant Pund, Mr. Sameer Pande, Mr. Sudheer Singh and Mr. Yashowardhan Sowale.
